Sasa Djordjevic has got permission from the Serbian Basketball Federation to take over Virtus Bologna.
Virtus Bologna announced that Sasa Djordjevic has taken over the club and will replace Stefano Sacripanti, who was let go on Monday (11/03).
Djordjevic will also remain the head coach of the Serbian national team, while he returns to the bench of a European team for the first time since March 2018, when he parted ways with Bayer Munich.
Bologna is currently 10th in the Italian League (10-11 record), while the Italian squad will face Le Mans on Wednesday (13/03), in Game 2 of the first knockout stage of the Basketball Champions League.
The first game ended in a draw (74-74) and the winner of the next one will advance to quarterfinals.
